About the Project
Funding History Search is a tool for discovering funding rate arbitrage opportunities across cryptocurrency exchanges that offer perpetual futures contracts.
What Are Funding Rates?
Perpetual futures (perps) have no expiration date. To keep the futures price anchored to the spot price, exchanges employ a funding rate mechanism — periodic payments exchanged between long and short traders.
- Positive funding rate — longs pay shorts
- Negative funding rate — shorts pay longs
Funding rates are settled every 8 hours on most centralized exchanges (Binance, OKX, Bybit, etc.) and every 1 hour on decentralized exchanges (Hyperliquid, Drift, etc.).
Funding Rate Arbitrage
The core strategy: open a long position on an exchange with a low (or negative) funding rate and a short position on an exchange with a high funding rate. You earn the spread between the two rates with no directional exposure.
Example:
- BTCUSDT short on Binance: +0.03% per 8h
- BTCUSDT long on Hyperliquid: -0.005% per 1h
The spread between these exchanges is your profit. Funding History Search automatically identifies the best exchange pairs with the highest spread for every available ticker.
What the Tool Does
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Market Scanner | Bulk scan of all tickers across selected exchanges for a given time period |
| Spread Ranking | Results sorted by spread — the best arbitrage opportunities appear at the top |
| Funding Charts | Historical funding rate charts with per-exchange lines for visual comparison |
| Smart Filter | Automatic selection of tickers with stable, consistent funding rates |
| Strategy Mode | Fix one exchange and direction (long/short) to recalculate spreads relative to it |
| Portfolio with PnL | Track open positions and calculate real PnL based on historical funding data |
Supported Exchanges
Funding History Search works with 29 exchanges, including:
CEX (8h settlement interval): Binance, OKX, Bybit, Bitget, Gate.io, MEXC, KuCoin, HTX, CoinEx, Phemex, BingX, Kraken, dYdX, Vertex, and others.
DEX (1h settlement interval): Hyperliquid, Drift, Aevo, Orderly, RabbitX, and others.
Automatic Rate Normalization
Different funding intervals are handled automatically — all rates are normalized to a common hourly format so you can compare CEX and DEX exchanges side by side without manual conversion.
